Homeopathy Complementary Therapy Harrogate
Homeopathy is a holistic therapy that looks at imbalances in your health and gently stimulates your body into healing itself. The aim of homeopathy is to tackle the cause of a complaint by looking at the whole person, not just at isolated symptoms.
All aspects of your life are relevant to the choice of your homeopathic remedy including anything from physical symptoms and how you experience them to emotional patterns such as negative beliefs.
Remedies can be made from a wide range of substances from the natural world and operate on the principle that ‘like cures like’. For example, hay fever with streaming, burning eyes may be treated with a remedy made from the onion.
You can find out much more about homeopathy on the Society of Homeopaths website.
You can find information on research into homeopathy on the Faculty of Homeopaths website.

I am particularly interested in using homeopathic remedies to support personal development.
Who can use homeopathy?
Homeopathy is suitable for everyone from babies to the elderly. It is safe to use during conception, pregnancy and breast-feeding.
You do not have to stop taking prescription drugs – homeopathy can be used safely alongside conventional medication and does not interfere with it.
Any reduction in prescription drugs must take place under the guidance of your GP. You can also carry on with other treatments or therapies such as physiotherapy, Reiki or counselling.
What is homeopathic treatment like?
Correctly used, homeopathy is safe, simple and its effects may be profound. Remedies are non-addictive, do not cause toxic build-up and cause no known side-effects.
Homeopathy is non-invasive so there are no uncomfortable or embarrassing procedures.
The first consultation takes 1½ hours and follow-ups take around 45 minutes. There is time to tell me about what is really troubling you and you can express all those vague things that you probably wouldn’t mention to your GP. The consultation, which is of course completely confidential, gives the space for me to get to know you as a person and to really listen and understand what your complaint means to you and how you experience it.
Appointments are usually at intervals of 4 to 6 weeks. It is recommended that you plan to have 3 appointments initially after which the situation can be reviewed. Length of treatment depends on your level of health and the nature of your complaint.
Treatment itself is simple and takes the form of either small tablets or drops.
The highest ideal of cure is rapid, gentle and permanent restoration of health.
