Reiki
Reiki is a touch healing therapy which is deeply relaxing.
Reiki energy flows into the patient and gently balances the body. Blocks in the natural flow of energy around the body can lead to discomfort or disease and Reiki helps to dissolve these. The original system of Reiki healing was developed by Dr Mikao Usui (1865 - 1926) in Japan.
How can Reiki help?
What Can I expect during a Reiki Treatment?
After an initial chat to discuss what you want treatment for, I will invite you to lie, fully-clothed, on a treatment couch and make sure you feel warm and comfortable (you can remain seated if this is better for you).
During the treatment I will gently put my hands in positions either on or just above the body which will direct the Reiki energy into your head, major organs, endocrine system and major energy centres (chakras). All you have to do is relax and enjoy.
I can offer a guided meditation during the beginning of the treatment to help you relax more quickly.
After the treatment you are offered a glass of water and are advised to take it easy for a while.

Reiki Drum
I have known for a long time that I would be working with sound healing and now I have found Reiki Drum. Reiki Drum combines Reiki with drumming on a shamanic frame drum.
People have responded to the power of sound and rhythm since the start of humanity - sound reaches beyond the mind and goes straight to the heart and soul. We feel the beat in our chest and the song in our hearts and they take us somewhere beyond the mundane. Drumming is part of cultures throughout the world from African tribal rhythms to Tibetan religious ceremonies and from military parades to the drum and bass scene.
Studies show that shamanic drumming, like deep meditation, can stimulate the production of theta brainwaves which reduce stress levels.
In a Reiki Drum session, I drum for about 10 or 15 minutes above or around the client. I then perform Reiki which anchors in the effects of the drumming and is amplified by it. I may also use Reiki chanting or singing, known as Reiki Kotodama, and singing bowls if I feel guided to.
Clients have found Reiki Drum sessions to be very powerful.
